I taught these girls how to make traditional Pakistani dishes, biryani ( traditonal dish of rice and chicken) and gulab jamun ( a sweet dish savored a lot in India and Pakistan).

summer desserts

water melon soup with summer fruit.
when watermelon begin to arrive in the markets, its officially the start of summer!
the soup is served cold with mixed berries and melons. I serve this at the restaurant with a scoop of coconut lime sorbet.

In the summer when Peaches are in season, I make this desert, peaches with an amaretti and cheese filling, served with vanilla bean ice cream.
its simple and delicious.

pakistani fish market!

My cousin got me and my husband into this wholesale fish market. I was amazed of the variety of fish there, unfortunately most of the fish is exported, so most of the locals don't know about them.

I think I was the only woman there.

I went to this farmers market in Baltimore, it had some really good looking stuff.

last year I helped open a restaurant in the Chesapeake bay area. I came across this awesome farmers market, that had a variety of fresh organic produce. My favorite thing to do when traveling is browsing through local farmer markets, I drag my family through so many .
